So my day started out today by me nearly brushing my teeth with icy hot. I was half asleep and reached for the icy hot instead of the toothpaste tube....luckily as soon as it got in my mouth, I could smell the wretched stench of icy hot and promptly removed the toothbrush from said mouth. That could've been really awful!
Then....Aspen....poo.....everywhere! Several weeks ago, she figured out how to get her diaper off and so we've been really conscious about making sure her diaper region is covered so she can't get it off...until today. She was REALLY hot today and so I took her onesie off for her nap...she napped....she woke up....she was in her crib just laughing away and so I let her stay in there for awhile. After a little bit, I HAD to go check and see what was *sooo* funny and I was fully imagining her playing peek-a-boo with her blanket because she does that lots and its so sweet! Right....not so much. As soon as I peeked in the door I'd wished I hadn't. Poo on her face, her belly, her legs, her diaper was poo side down on her sheet. Her stuffed bunny....covered. And there is my daughter laughing away....so I promptly removed her from the crib and put her in the tub....it was the grossest moment of my life. As soon as she was clean, I took everything out of her crib and threw it into the washing machine and all the while, Aspen is still laughing and just having a jolly old time. So so so so gross.
And then tonight while I was watching the American Idol finale (in which my guy, David Cook, WON!!!) little miss Mia somehow got her foot or something stuck in my ribs and was digging around in there....man that hurt! I don't know if it was really stuck in there, but she sure wasn't moving it away from the rib region!
Now I must go to bed and hopefully have a less gross day tomorrow! :)

ewww - - poo is just so wrong, but what a cute and nasty story that she was having so much fun... Poor Yvonne!!! Sounds like Mia is a Cook fan too! Way to raise her right already! :) Tomorrow will be a lot less crappy!
The great thing about moms is that they all have some incredible poo stories. Yours was pretty funny, but only because it didn't happen to me! :O)
I am sure that you and I will both have many more poo stories in our future! Please continue to share.
Oh, I read your thank you note to Addie today, and she just BEAMED as she listened to every word! She gets embarassed to be praised, but she also really needs to hear those things. It was such a sweet little note and meant the world to my precious little girl! So, thank YOU for making her day!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Hahahaha! Gotta love it when they figure those things out! Ha ha hahahahahahahahaha! I feel for you, I really do! Ha ha ha ha!
too cute. i love leslie's comment...and yes, tomorrow will be less 'crappy'! it's funny, somehow we mom's get used to the poo. and it's just poo. everyone poo's, and aspen likes playing in hers! =) yuck.
Oh yuck. That happened w/ one of my friends' kids, too. So gross. So not funny - unless you're us reading the blog. :o)
The thing that makes this story the worst is cleaning poo AND being pregnant. Everything like that is worse when you're pregnant. Yuck.
Sorry, Yvonne! I'm reading it a day later. I hope your day was better!!
Oh yuck, yvonne! As bad as my boys are, luckily none of them have tried that yet... knock on wood. But I think there's something to be said for your sweet Aspen and her great attitude about life... she finds joy in everything! She really is one of the happiest babies ever. Hope your next day was better. Maybe you should try duct tape to hold her diapers on...;)
That is the funniest and nastiest story I have ever heard. Oh the joys of motherhood!
