Halloween!

Ok so this is late in posting, much like everything in my life right now is late. I blame it on everyone but me! Haha. Anyway, poor Aspen was her monkey again this year. My plan of having Mia be the monkey and not having to get two new costumes every year did not work out. Mia is barely in 9 month clothes and that costume was 18-24months. So it drowned Mia and was a bit too small for Aspen. But I was just too late in making a decision on costumes....by the time I went out costume shopping, there was nothing cute. And I had a ladybug costume that my cousin gave us last year that didn't fit either one of them, but it was fine for Mia this year. So Aspen was a monkey again and Mia was a ladybug. I'm probably the lamest mom around. But they were both pretty darn cute! And Aspen REALLY got the hang of trick or treating REALLY quickly. Here's Mia in the monkey - way too big!

So, we went to a trunk-or-treat Friday night and Aspen had a fantastic time with that. Mia was more interested in just walking around with her pumpkin than actually getting candy. I have no pictures of that night. Because I am a lame mom. Or maybe cuz Malo wasn't with us and I only have two arms. :)

Then Saturday night, Malo took the girls trick-or-treating on our street and I stayed home and passed out candy.

Well, they were only gone maybe 15 minutes - Malo said Aspen after a few houses just sat on the ground and wanted to eat her candy! She was done! So they came home and we all passed out candy to the TONS of trick or treaters! Apparently our new street gets the most trick or treaters in town. Aspen I think had just as much, if not more, fun passing out candy to the kids who came to our door. She's so funny. Everytime the bell rang she'd say "OH! Its the door!" and run as fast as she could to the door. And she'd comment on the costumes, "oh you kitty cat. meow!" "Oh you so pretty" to the princesses. And my favorite....this boy who was probably 9 or 10 had a mask on and she says "OH! You too scared!!!" And he looked at her and said "I'm not scared." to which she replied, "yeah, uh-huh. you too scared!" He was seriously offended! Ha! But really she was trying to tell him he's scary. She just says it scared. It still makes me laugh how defensive the poor kid was. I could've told him what she meant...but I didn't.

Anyway, I didn't get pictures of trick-or-treating either since I didn't go with them, and it was hard to get any of the girls together. But we had a fun time. And here is what I have....
Mia checking out her loot...
Aspen checking out Mia's goodies

The girls happily enjoying their candies....
...until Aspen steals Mia's sucker right out of her mouth....

And that's it. Sorry kiddos that mommy wasn't more on top of things this year. But hey...they still had fun. :)

Face

We got some REALLY good shots of baby on Friday...clearly and definitely a boy. And not a shy one. But I'm not posting those on the internet....just trust me! ;-) Anyway, here's a nice profile shot. I think we're going to have another little Malo look alike. What do you think?

And I'll post Halloween pictures soon. :)

Its a BOY! (we're pretty sure!)

So I had my first appointment with my new doctor yesterday and he just did a super quick ultrasound in the office to check a couple things....and he saw....boy parts. He says he's 90% certain that's what it is! SO....Malo's super excited to be getting his boy. :) We have our official big diagnostic ultrasound on the 30th and I guess we'll double check then...

Really need to update

So....I know I haven't updated in a really long time. But here's the deal....my computer is broken. All my pictures are on my computer. I use Malo's computer for the internet but his computer won't read the little sd cards so any new pictures I take I can download to his computer ONE AT A TIME with my cord connector on the camera....but it takes way too long. way too long. So I'm going to catch up on some stuff and there will be no pictures of my fun children or anything of the sort. Oh yeah....I also hate HATE typing on Malo's computer, too. So really I may end this quickly as well. :)

Here are some exciting things that have happened in recent months since I've last updated:

*Malo and I celebrated our 7th anniversary. Its hard to believe we've been married that long and then its hard to believe we've only been married that long. He's a nice boy. I like him. :)

*Mia finally started walking. and she's great at it.

*We've had lots of visits from friends and family. We've also been out to see friends and family a few times. We love our family. And our friends. We like visitors, so come anytime! :)

*We were able to watch Abby, Tanner and Scott wrestle at a tournament out here. That was really fun. then we were able to watch Tanner again at the State meet out here. They are fun to watch.

*My mom and Abby came out and we all took a trip to Whitefish, MT to visit my cousin, Rachel. that was really fun and REALLY beautiful. Then we drive down by Flathead Lake and poulson, where my mom graduated from high school and she gave us a tour of the town....apparently not much has changed in over 30 years. :)

*We've just had a fun summer for the most part. We've been able to do lots of fun things outdoors...Spokane is actually pretty nice in the summer. Lots of nice parks, lots of sunshine. We go swimming and hiking lots. We also did this family "adventure day" on day where we kayaked, canoed, and rafted. that was really fun. Aspen adores being in the water.

*Aspen has the funniest sense of humor. She says really really funny things. She's talking really well...and basically never stops. She wakes up talking and goes to sleep talking...and rarely stops in between. she even talks in her sleep. :)

*Mia is the craziest climber I have ever known. She climbs on everything. Seriously. And she fears nothing.

*Hmmmm....it sure seemed like I had more to say when I started, but I guess that's the bulk of it. So until I feel like paying $100+ to get a new cord for my computer, I'm ending this. :)

I yuv you much

A few days ago, the sweetest sentence I've ever heard in my life came out of my sweet Aspen's mouth. She said, for the first time on her own and out of the blue, "I yuv you MUCH!" It made me smile from ear to ear. She is so sweet. :)

And now my baby is ONE!

Mia turned one on June 25th. I feel bad I didn't get her post done on her big day, but better late than never, right? And its not even a week late. :)
Mia is such a little doll. We love her so much are so grateful for her. She was a miracle baby - we never ever thought I'd ever be able to carry a baby and I did with not TOO many complications...and she's healthy now and that's all that matters. :)
Mia has added so much to our family. Its been amazing to see Aspen become a big sister at only 1 year old and how much they complement each other. I can't imagine one without the other. They are the sweetest of sisters and play so well sometimes and then not so well others...but isn't that typical?
Anyway, Mia is one now and has quite the little personality. She's a little bit mischevious and a very adventurous. She climbs on everything and is basically not afraid of anything - except walking. :) She can do it and she's taken two steps on her own several times, but she just won't do it completely on her own. All in her own time, though.

She will climb all the way up the slides at the park, she really seriously climbs on everything - its pretty funny to watch this tiny little adventure girl. :)

She also really loves to swing. Like from the first time we put her in one she was in heaven!!! :)

Some of Mia's favorite things right now, other than climbing on anything she can, are:
*pulling things out of drawers and the dryer and the dishwasher, and basically anything she can dump or otherwise create more work for her mommy. :)
*taking baths and swimming in the pool - only if mommy is holding her
*eating
*singing/cooing/babbling
*waving hi and bye-bye
*bubbles!
Some things Mia does NOT like, and makes it VERY well known her distaste for, are:
*diaper changes
*getting in her car seat
*green pureed baby food (she'll eat regular peas, green beans, even bell peppers, as long as they are not pureed!)

Mia loves chasing games, when we're crawling on the floor after her. But its funny because she doesn't really "run" away. When you say "I'm gonna' get you" she stops and sits and laughs and laughs. Its pretty funny. ;-) She has the cutest, sweetest little boisterous laugh. It makes me laugh to hear her laugh. Actually, the sound that makes my heart the happiest is the sounds of Aspen and Mia laughing together. I wish I could bottle it and keep it forever. :)

And one last thing, Mia is pretty much a mommy's girl. She rather hates it when I am not in her direct sight and will scream until I am. She also only wants me to hold her on the left side of my body, if I try to do anything else, she monkeys her way over to the left side. She's a silly little munchkin who we love so much. Happy Birthday, sweet baby.
